2024 Trend Predictions
With a criminally good year of fashion coming to an end, let’s chat about some trend predictions for 2024…
1.Fur Coats
In the late Fall to Winter months of 2023, we’ve seen an abundance of fur coats, specifically Afghan coats. They’re a chic addition to an outfit and can be dressed up with tights, or down with jeans and your favorite pair of sunnies.
2. Polka Dots
Similarly to fur coats the popularity of polka dots has been small but I can only hope to see more of them in 2024 as they’re a personal favorite of mine. I love how classy polka dots can be and what they can add to a simple outfit. Make sure to try out a polka dot dress or polka dot tights this upcoming year.
3. Charms
Charms have been popping up all over fashion. While chunky gold and silver jewelry were large trends of 2023, I am excited to hopefully see a transition to more charm bracelets and necklaces in 2024. I love the individuality of charms and how unique they can make a jewelry piece. Whether or not you’re keeping your jewelry stacks fun, simple, or elegant, charms bring the piece to the next level. Try out charms on bags as well to give them an extra touch of you.
4. Funky Tights
With the recycling of old trends I’m expecting to see more from the late 2000s to 2010’s again this year such as the infamous colored tights. Versace has already been ahead of this trend as shown in some of their campaigns of the past seasons and I predict that it will catch on to other brands this year. I hope to see this trend taken more creatively and modernized than what we all watched in Gossip Girl’s early seasons to spice up Blair’s uniforms.
5. Frosted Blue Makeup
Frosty blue eyeshadow is another trend I think will be recycled this upcoming year. Instead of the bright blue eyeshadow from the 2000s I think a more mature and classy frosted blue will become very popular this upcoming year. Some of our favorites, like Lily-Rose Depp, have already tried this look out.
6. Drop Waists.
With the comeback of low rise everything this past year, I believe drop waists will follow in 2024. Drop waists give the same low rise feel and are quite flattering as they cut at the hip with the top being tighter to frame. While I think this trend will be biggest in the bridal department I love the look and hope to see more of them in everyday dresses as well.
7. Peach Girl Summer
While trend names do tend to get out of hand I hope to see “Peach Girl Summer” approaching Summer 2024. “Peach Fuzz” being named Pantone’s pick for 2024 color of the year I expect to see it a lot in upcoming fashion. Peach is such a summery color as is so I hope to see many brands follow the warm color when picking outfits and makeup this summer.
