Who are you dressing like this fall?
By Charlotte Ross
It is no lie that you’re watching Gossip Girl or Gilmore Girls this fall. Both shows have gained a reputation over the years of “fall shows” if it’s either from the iconic Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes, or the vibe of coffee and diners in the town of Stars Hollow. In both shows the fall outfits never disappoint, so who are you this fall? Are you choosing to dress like Serena, Blair, or Rory?
Serena is known for her blonde messy hair and warm toned outfits that usually include tall boots, a brown leather purse, and gold statement jewelry. Despite the New York City weather in November, Serena must not be affected by the cold because you will never catch her in tights with her mini skirt;however, as long as you add a loose tie, any outfit can be considered a Serena look. If you want to follow a Serena Van Der Woodsen based look this year try some of these options: a sequin cardigan, mini pleated skirt, gold jewelry, white button downs, sweater dresses, and tall boots with even taller socks.
On the other hand, Blair Waldorf (when not in her Constance uniform) was always dressed for the seasons with class. Blair had no need for a comfortable shoe with her driver always on hand but always had a luxury coat paired with black tights and a skirt for when the weather started getting colder. Interested in being styled like Blair as the temperature drops? Try a statement headband or purse, pearls, tights, and either ballet flats or a heel.
Rory Gilmore unlike either Blair or Serena will be walking around her small town instead of a big city during fall. When not wearing her Chilton uniform she is studying with a mug of coffee in a big sweater and jeans. Rory’s outfits will always not only be practical but stylish. Whether you’re team Dean, Jess, or Logan, no one can deny that we all wanted her sweaters and to try the pancakes at Luke’s Diner. Want to dress like a Gilmore Girl this season? How about trying a cable knit sweater, low rise jeans, converse, and a tote bag to carry your books.
