MARGOT ROBBIE’S BEST BARBIE LOOKS

By Charlotte Ross

The world has been mesmerized by Margot Robbie and the new Barbie movie.  However, along with the highly rated movie came some incredible outfits.  During the Barbie press tour Margot stayed on theme by not just dressing like Barbie but recreating looks of old barbies with designers.  There’s almost too much to look at, so let’s debrief.  Here is a list of the 5 most iconic looks throughout the press tour.

5. “Pink and Fabulous”

This was Margot Robbie's first look and was based off the “Pink and Fabulous” Barbie made in 2015.  It was remade by Valentino and was worn by Robbie on June 25th at a Los Angeles photo call.  Similar to the original Barbie’s outfit, the pink polka dot dress was styled with a yellow Valentino Rockstud purse,a set of Assael pearl earrings with a matching bracelet, and white Manolo Blahnik pumps.

4.  “Teenage Fashion Model”

This look was a recreation of the first ever Barbie from 1959.  Margot Robbie wore a striped Hervé Léger bandage dress to mimic the “Teenage Fashion Model” striped swimsuit.  Not only did Robbie match with accessories but with her glam as well.  Robbie had her ponytail curled to what seemed like an exact science along with matching red nails.  This look also focuses on the Barbie that wasn’t associated immediately with the color pink.

3. “Totally Hair”

This vibrant outfit was made to mimic the 1992 “Totally Hair Barbie”.  This colorful Emilio Pucci mini dress was worn at a photo call in Mexico paired with pink stilettos.  Robbie made the outfit complete by matching Barbie's long wavy hair.

2.”Day-to-Night”

This look focused on the career women that Barbie was known as by recreating the “Day-to-Night” Barbie.  While she did have two looks to fully capture the Barbie released in 1985, the night portion of the outfit was truly a showstopper.  Robbie pulled up in a Versace replica of the gown on July 2nd at the Seoul premiere with a bedazzled faux 1980’s cell phone accessory.

1.”Enchanted Evening”

This incredible gown from the 1960’s “Enchanted Evening Barbie” was recreated by Vivienne Westwood.  This Barbie is the epitome of old Hollywood.  It’s elegant, classy, and screams movie star.  Robbie and Barbie also matched with a three-strand pearl choker when making an appearance at the London premiere.
