Isabel’s July Picks

Pleasures sparked a teenage riot this past week when they dropped their collaboration with the 90s indie-rock band Sonic Youth. This collection features designs inspired by the band’s iconic albums like Goo and Daydream Nation. You can grab your own Dirty stuffed animal as well as rock a Washing Machine towel while tanning. The second installment of this collection drops July 21st, but this collaboration already has a special place in my closet. The limited edition collection features photographs from the archives, album artwork, and more!

Hypebeast describes the Blumarine x Marc Jacobs collaboration as a “Y2K love affair”, and I think they’re spot-on. Heaven by Marc Jacobs is already established in the world of grungy Y2k teens, but now it’s tackling the world of Juicy Couture it-girls, and they’re doing it well. Consisting of just eleven pieces and three colors, someone’s wardrobe can just be this line and they would still have as many outfit combinations as Cher does in Clueless. This collaboration brings the Italian fashion house back into the limelight while cementing Heaven into high fashion.

While Praying is already one of my favorite brands, they have me digging into my savings again when they released their two new hoodies inspired by the Olsen twins and “Every Time We Touch” by Cascada. Released in limited quantities, Praying has me working overtime for them. These two hoodies subtly stand out from their more well-known styles, like the “Brangelina” hoodie or the “Holy Trinity” bikini set. In the future, I would love to see this brand do some collaborations with more pop culture icons.
