NYFW Runway Unwrapped
By Charlotte Ross
New York Fashion Week has now come to an end. What looks followed our trend predictions? Which were our favorites? And what stood out to us? Let’s chat and review the past week’s runway.
Predicted - Micheal Kors

Micheal Kors Autumn/Winter 2024 show was most similar to our 2024 fashion predictions. We expected to see lots of fur coats, which were heavy on the Micheal Kors runway. We also predicted to see leopard print and peach tones. The Micheal Kors runway had all of the above. While it wasn’t my favorite show of the week I was excited to see some of our predictions from one of our last posts come true.
Favorites - Retrofête

I am a Retrofête fan till I die and would commit crimes to wear one of their dresses. Their collection for this upcoming fall and winter did not disappoint and proved my opinions even further. The line consisted mostly of dark tones with pops of deep red and vibrant lilac. The feathers, ruffles, mesh, and sequins were on trend for this upcoming year and emphasized the brand's sophistication. This show stood out to me as they usually do and remained one of my favorites for the entire week.
Wow Factor - Thom Browne

Thom Browne’s collection was for sure the most memorable of the week. The looks combined textures like ribbon and tweed creating what some could call goth business chic. Browne used Edgar Allen Poe’s poem, “The Raven” as inspiration for the collection. A recording of a reading from “The Raven” played throughout the show making the runway more of a performance than a fashion show. Children dressed in Thom Browne suits also walked the stage in a cult-like manner following a distressed figure who was supposed to act as the mother. I recommend watching a clip from the runway as the show itself was breathtaking and a work of art.
